(Note my map making skills are not good, but could possibly get better with lots and lots and lots of practice. I say around winter 2015 It'll be top notch)
The map above is a prediction of how much snowfall I think will fall across Texas. The road block looking circle is where I think there will be a higher chance of an ice storm hitting. Below at the bottom of the page is an average amount of snowfall a few cities in Texas get yearly. I didn't include those who get less than an inch like Houston and Austin. But I do think this year they both will get above an inch of snow. As you can see I'm expecting above normal snowfall for much of Texas. Not much above, but above, and better than last year. Now the reason I don't think it'll be much above normal is because I'm not sold on the idea that this winter will be colder than normal. I'm pretty certain this Winter we'll have above average precip, the southern branch of the jetstream should be very active it looks like. So if this winter brings below average temps the snowfall could be more than this, it all just depends on how much cold air we get. Sometimes we wonder about both the precip and cold air being in place, but this winter I think all we'll have to hope for is for the cold air to come along. The precip will be there. Thanks to our friend El-Nino.
I'm calling for Above normal precip and normal temps.
I'm hoping for above normal Precip and below normal temps.
It should be an interesting Winter with all the precip chances I'm sure we'll have a lot to talk about, so stay tuned.
Yearly average.
